Hi, I’m Nadine
As professionally trained software engineer and web developer I bring both tech skills and as well as an awareness for ethical tech use including data privacy. My gift lies in explaining seemingly complicated topics in a simple way so that also non-tech people can easily get a solid understanding. I know both worlds and understand my role as facilitating translator.

How I got here
From Freelancer to Entrepreneur
While I could build software more in the way I envisioned during my freelancing, I was still working on other people’s projects. In 2023 I founded Unseen Horizons to realize my own projects including my flagship project “One Roof Suite”. More infos about that one coming soon.
Freelancing in Web Development
Still, I wanted to have more freedom in my decisions and ways of building software. So, in 2019 I became self-employed in web development to be more independent and work on my own terms incorporating values which truly matter to me.
Software Development in the Startup world
Craving a change from rigid hierarchies in the corporate world I entered the Startup world working for two different IT service companies where I could experience more agility and execute my own ideas more.
M.Sc. Business Informatics
I wanted to learn more and started my Master studies part-time where I deepened my knowledge in Usability, Web Technologies and Distributed Systems and learned about new topics such as Data Mining, Information Retrieval, Artificial Intelligence and Social Networks.
Software Development in the Corporate world
After my Bachelor studies I started working in a Big Four company in tech consulting and agile software development. This is where I developed my knowledge about software applications in the corporate world.
B.Sc. Business Informatics
After having studied Business Administration for 1 and a half year, I needed a change to something more tangible. So, I decided to study Business Informatics instead and tried out a couple of modern programming languages, such as Java, C#, Android and C. This resulted in my first mobile app being developed during my Bachelor thesis.
The early days
I have been fascinated by tech and computers since childhood and made my first experiences using Windows 95, back then primarily in gaming as you can tell from the picture. Later I contributed to the Open Source project Vocaluxe, back then not in software development but in song tapping. Since then curiosity about how software works caught me and my first own projects were clones of popular games like Minesweeper, Tetris, Game of Life and Snake.

What I love
Traveling
I love traveling. With every new place I discover in the outside I also discover something new about myself. So, every outside journey eventually becomes an inside journey too.
Music
Music is one of my favorite ways of self-expression. I love to dance. I love to sing. I love to play piano. To me music is living, music is feeling, music is the language of my spirit.
Crypto
The money of the people. It’s about time to distribute the power from organizations back to people. To me crypto is one of the most promising solutions to this.
Parkour
Parkour is my favorite sports to help me assess risks and overcome fears using my body. Whenever, I feel disconnected from my body parkour helps me to return and feel alive again.
Fresh fruits
Fresh fruits are my weakness. Nothing feels more nourishing to my body than eating fresh fruits on hot summer days. I love their diversity and colorfullness.
