This includes keeping your WordPress version up to date and testing WordPress releases compatibility with your site’s theme and plugins. This is especially crucial for major WordPress updates (e.g. from version 5 to 6) as those can come with breaking changes.
Theme Updates
This includes keeping your theme up to date and testing its compatibility with your site’s plugins. I also ensure that any custom changes which were made in your theme during website development will be preserved (using an individualized child theme).
Plugin Updates
As trivial as this may seem at first glance as bad it can be when a not thoroughly tested plugin update breaks some functions or worse shuts your whole website down. To prevent this and ensure your website’s up-time professional testing of updates is crucial.

The server is like your website’s home from where it’s run. A tidy and well maintained home is the base for your website’s performance.
Technical base maintenance
Your WordPress website heavily relies on PHP (a programming language) and MySQL (a database engine) which build the foundation for your website to run on. To keep these foundations healthy and up to date is essential.

As I manage a bunch of WordPress websites I use an alert mechanism which notifies me instantly when new WordPress / theme or plugin vulnerabilities are discovered. This allows me to apply fixes fast and keep your website secure.
Malware scans
I also perform regular malware scans as part of all my website care plans. If in spite of all precautions a website gets infected it won’t go unnoticed but will be cleaned up quickly preventing any big damages.
Offsite Backups
In spite of all precautions the bigger a website grows the more complicated it gets and things can go wrong. Therefore it is so important to have a fallback and to get your website back to its last stable state.
Backup scheduling
Backup scheduling includes defining how regular backups of your website’s should be made and also where they are to be stored. The storage space should preferably be external from the server your website runs on.
Backup validation
From time to time it should be thoroughly tested that the created backups are actually valid and working well. From my experience it’s a nightmare when you assume you can just restore a backup and then figure out all backups are broken.

A developer license licenses several websites for the usage and updates of its underlying plugin. That means for you that you can save money on licensing costs as split developer license costs are less than the costs for a single site license.
